Working in an electronic environment
In addition to the online curriculum centre (OCC) and its public web site (http://www.ibo.org), the IBO maintains two web sites that are dedicated to delivering each Diploma Programme examination session in a secure electronic environment.
Coordinators in schools use a web site known as IBNET to:
- register candidates for an examination session
- send marks and other information to the IBO
- receive their candidates’ results.
Examiners have access to a secure site, known as Examnet, which is used to receive and send virtually all information and data during a session.
Both of these sites are currently being phased out and replaced with a more flexible and up-to-date information system known as IBIS. The IBO continues to explore other exciting opportunities offered by modern technology, including:
- candidates writing examinations online (e-assessment)
- examiners receiving and marking scripts online (e-marking).
